Code for Members of Art, Antique & Design Association (KAD)

Membership of the trade association obligates each dealer to comply with the association’s statutes. When you deal with a member of Art, Antique & Design Association (KAD), you have the necessary guarantees for a serious treatment. One of the association’s purpose is to provide security for the members’ customers.
Thus it is of great importance that our members, in addition to follow the rather restrictive Danish laws regulating internet trade, also comply with the ethical and moral rules necessary to guarantee a professional and responsible treatment of our customers. Among other items this includes a certainty that:

  • There is consistency between the characteristics of the item,  authenticity and invoice description, and consequently that the customer can return the product and get his payment back, if this is not the case.
  • The member is approved by the Danish police to deal in antiques, etc., and that only products legally acquired is put on to the market.

The member is obviously responsible for their own business, but the Board may be mediator between customer and member in disputes brought before the association’s Board of Appeal.

Right of cancellation

Apply only for internet sales to private customers (i.e. not for internet trade with a professional art- & antiquedealer). When making an internet purchase with members of the Art, Antique & Design Association (KAD), you as a private consumer are entitled to a 14 days right of cancellation, according to the Danish “Sale of Goods Act”. The 14 days period starts from the day of the arrival of the goods. If exercising this right, you are requested to contact the seller, before you return the goods. When returned to the seller, the goods must be in same condition and number as when received by the customer, and the buyer must pay the shipping costs of the return.

Claim rights

Instead you are asked to immediately contact the seller. You may be offered exchange or repair, if possible, or a suitable cutdown in the price. Or if the damage is substantial a cancellation of the purchase
