Description: Height 12 cm.
Diameter of the saucer 16 cm.

Beautiful empire cup from German KPM, Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur.

KPM was founded in 1751 by Wilhelm Caspar Wegely and in 1763 was taken over by Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, giving it its royal name, a name the factory kept until 1918 when the German monarchy was abolished and the factory changed its name to Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur . The factory was rebuilt after the Second World War and today still produces porcelain outside Berlin.

The cup is nicely decorated with wide gold edges and flowers in overglaze.

The set is factory marked with KPM's scepter with an orange line underneath which may date this to the 1820s-1830s.

The upper cup is in good condition with minimal wear.
The saucer has a chip and an old repair.
